About Craig
Craig Attkisson started Green Side Up Landscaping in 2004, not long after finishing degrees in Turfgrass Management and Horticulture and spending his early career in the golf course industry. He put his savings into a first round of equipment and ran the young company himself. In those first years he handled sales, estimates, and production before there was a team to pass any of it to.
That start still shapes how he runs the business. Craig built Green Side Up around a plain promise that shows up in the daily work: do what was agreed, then check that it was done right. Over more than two decades he has grown the company from one person into two Virginia branches serving Richmond and Williamsburg, while holding the same standards for turf health and property care that his background trained him to expect.
What Craig Focuses On
As General Manager, Craig oversees how Green Side Up runs across both markets, from the standards crews follow on maintenance accounts to the soil and turf practices behind healthier lawns. His training in turfgrass and horticulture informs the company’s approach to fertilization, aeration, and long-term property health, and he stays close to the pricing and service decisions that affect Richmond homeowners.
